A little look back to our Army Days

Joanie made it to Corporal Cook and myself to Gunner RHA
so Joan is in Charge and I'm happy with good grub and a hard working wife.

" What a shambles"

We Thought this Inspection would be really good
But the Battery Comander thought it was a mess

THE DINING HALL OSWESTRY CAMP 1952
They used big square Alloy Trays with compartments
for all your meal so your corn flakes got into your Beacon and
eggs if you walked to your seat to fast.

After one week in the Army I had the Mump's
and was taken to the Chester Military Hospital
for two weeks so got seperated from John the
lad on my left who belonged to Bonnyrigg in
Midlothian Scotland.

Final Passing out Parade after four weeks at Oswetery
We are now off to Rhyl North Wales for another six weeks
intensive training before geting posted to our sevice units

Wonderful to be back from active Service but now
we had to serve 3years with 251 Regt RATA but only
Part Time we were on Reserve cross your fingers
no Wars started or we would be called Back

They even gave us a Medal each
